Baby osprey rescued with help from MiE

Mi Electric has helped rescue a baby osprey named Olive, when she became stranded whilst learning to fly near our Sundale Bridge site office.

Wild Bird Rescue Gold Coast (WBRGC) sought our assistance to elevate Olive eight-metres high on a lighting tower, in the hope her mother would encourage her back to the nest. Unfortunately, other birds started to attack Olive, causing her to land in the water. Olive was picked up by WBRGC after they hitched a ride on a passing jet-ski, then one of our electricians used an Elevated Work Platform (provided by Down Under Bridge Units) to help WBRGC return Olive safely to her parents in the nest.

WBRGC reports Olive has now learnt to fly successfully – a fantastic team effort!
